My owl is ready to fly!

I have a very good news for all my owl-addicted friends ... I Have Another owl in my apartment! And I'm waiting to see The One That my grandma bought for me in Egypt.
But I really like this one, made by paper (in the picture is controlling the lamp shipping box!).
've Discovered this web site, www.3eyedbear.com , dedicated to supply you with totally free, imaginative little paper creatures! You can easly download all the paperkits clicking on their pictures, print, cut, fold and glue them so you have a little piece of art! And there's also a Flickr group   to share all the little paper creatures. It's genius! I mean, I don't have child, but I'm totally into this!
And what do you think about this blog, ( http://www.myowlbarn.com/ ) all dedicated to our beloveds owls?

Well, have a nice and "owly" weekend!
(Ok, maybe this is not a real word, But Who Cares?)

ps. Take a look on the Dutch shipping box .. is so cute with These messages! ("Life is a box of chocolates," "Surprise for you "...)

We have to winner!
Valentina Bellotti
is the winner of the 1st "IDA contest"

Valentina has sent me this lovely picture that represent her favourite place in the house, a multifunctional place where she knits and crochet, she watches tv and she uses the computer.
Her 3 loving objects are:
1. the AC/DC cushion that she has created from an old t-shirt;
2. a Haruki Murakami book (she loves the japanese lictrature and all the Japan things)
3. the scarf the she's making in these days.
On the couch there's a lovely purple blanket made by an aunt that lives in Canada.

I choose that picture yesterday night, around 1 o'clock and was a really hard work!
Don't misunderstand me, I love this picture, but I have received so many nice pictures that at the end I choose with my heart.
Personally I think that this picture represent at 100% what I was thinking when I' ve wrote the rules for the contest. In this pic I especially like the contrasts: the first one between the colors, yellow and purple and the light from the big window reflected on the white couch. The second one, between the "rock" cushion that she made and the knit activity..maybe not so rock!

Now I would like to thank all the participants from the bottom of my heart for taking part to the first "IDA contest". I really have enjoyed every single picture and the story behind that you decided to share with me.
You have sent me beautiful words and in the next days I publish on my blog all the pictures with the authors name.

See you on the next contest!
Ilaria

Valerie sent me this beautiful picture that is his favorite corner on the couch, a place where multi-function knitting and crocheting, where watching TV and using computers.
His three favorite objects are:
1. the pillow AC / DC has made from an old t-shirt;
2. a book by Haruki Murakami (she loves literature and all that is Japanese)
3. who is finishing a scarf knitted in recent days.
On the sofa is a beautiful purple blanket made by an aunt who lives in Canada and which 'dearly.

I chose that picture last night around one o'clock and it was a really hard work!
not get me wrong, I love this picture, but I received so many beautiful photos that I ended up with the heart.
Personally I think this photo represents 100% what I was thinking when I wrote the rules of the competition. In this picture I especially like the contrasts: the first of the yellow and purple light of the large window that is reflected on the white sofa. The second cushion between the "rock" that he did and knitting .. maybe not so rock!

Now I would like to thank all the participants from the depths of my heart for having participated in the first "IDA contest . I really enjoyed every single photo and the story that you've decided to share with me.
I have sent all the fine words and in the coming days I will publish all the photos on my blog with the names of the authors.

See you at the next contest!

If the singing and if they play. RSVP: the advertising campaign of the Roman

Yesterday at rush hour, waiting for more than 20 minutes a bus to Piazzale Flaminio, in the center of Rome, I looked under a scorching sun the new poster of the Roman summer 2009: " RSVP - Roma d ' Summer is a whole festival .

many Italians know what RSVP means?
useless to look on the page the meaning of the acronym.

On Exibart read:
"This breath of fresh air in institutional communication the City of Rome, one of the innovations introduced Croppi the Councillor. One of the test rig and the material produced for waiting Estate Romana : beginning with the new website, clear and elegant since claim RSVP.

And I really wonder how we define "clear and elegant" this message. I have not studied communications, but I think most of the recipients of the message stops to ask: maybe R will stand for Rome, but the rest ?

Who made this campaign, I presume, will be a good semifighettino of Rome, which addresses a very narrow audience of people like him who winks feeling good because he knows what it means RSVP , and clings to the certainty as to an identity that distinguishes it forced by bori and which will be found next summer in Rome.

Or maybe not. Just who did this ad campaign is so self-referential that really thinks that everyone knows what it means to RSVP for this gross oversight, and also builds a sense of its message: you're all invited, rich and poor, good and bad, cool or geek. Summer in Rome is a feast for all.

Not a country fair, however, but a party elite, a class of stuff, where even the invitation to exhibit, where they feel chosen, for once, privileged .

privileges in the city, to feel for once we poor bastards who are waiting for the bus half an hour under the midday sun of the privileged.

not have bread, eat brioche (or cones).

Meanwhile, the bus does not pass and catch a bus half-empty at the end of the line " Swimming-STZ. Terms " for the world swimming do great things and set up even a special line (like the one line that reaches M directly to the auditorium, as if those who go to the auditorium would use public transport), forgetting the normality of many Romans and tourists, who do not have a car or a motorcycle and would like human time for getting around town.
